A wide range of flexibility is obtained by choosing the specific porosity required from many grades of material available. Each grade of material is closely controlled for porosity rating. See table #2 for grades of material available and corresponding physical properties.

Standard material is made up of spherically shaped particles of copper coated with tin. Unlike other products of powdered metallurgy, controlled porosity sintered bronze is not normally pressed prior to sintering. The closely controlled particles are vibrated into a mold, then sintered to bond all particles together, forming a product of bronze having a defined porosity with excellent strength.
